For nearly four decades, the California League of Conservation Voters has rated each member of the California Legislature on key environmental votes of the session in the California Environmental Scorecard. Their 38th annual ScoreCard is newly out. Hop over to their website to download the full report, which provides a handy snapshot of who voted for what during the 2011 legislative session. It is a terrific resource for reading summaries of all the bills, and getting a sense of voter attitudes and general momentum.
The Ecology Center would like to give a shout out to Assembly Member Nancy Skinner from District 14 for her perfect score of 100% for her consistent pro-environment voting record, and to Senator Loni Hancock for her respectable 88% rating, which would have been higher except for a few missed votes on good bills that ended up passing. Thank you for representing our values!
