16th Annual Bay Area Seed Swap & Celebration, 3/7/15

20150223seedswapOne of our favorite events is coming up very soon, back for another year! Join us for a fun and festive Annual Seed Swap hosted by the Bay Area Seed Interchange Library (BASIL). Come learn about seed libraries, swap home-grown garden seeds, share a potluck supper, enjoy music and the company of fantastic local gardeners and earth stewards. There will also be info available on the national Save Seed Sharing campaign.

The Bay Area Seed Interchange Library (BASIL) Project is part of a growing network of concerned farmers and community gardeners dedicated to conserving the remaining genetic diversity of our planet’s seed stock. They have created a library of healthy vegetable, herb, and flower seeds that are available free to the public, housed at the Ecology Center.

Join the fun, Saturday, March 7th from 7-9 PM with your seeds to swap and a potluck dish to share. This event is open to experienced and beginning seed savers alike. Click here for more details, we hope to see you there!

  1. I hope your seed swap is earlier in 2016 that it was the previous year. Many of the tomato seeds that I can swap should already be started by March so I hope this event can be towards the end of February in 2016.
