Our studio-based artmaking will unfold within the context of the history of ecoart, community-based art and activist art, with visits from distinguished guest artists, scientists and community activists.
This semester we will visit Recology: SF Dump’s Artist in Residence Program, engage in a collaborative ecoart project with studio artists at Creative Growth, meet with Sulphur Creek naturalists and their live bats, screen newly released films about environmental issues and much more to be announced!
Students will create art that matters the most to them, across disciplines in the visual arts, media arts, literary arts and/or performing arts.
Each semester our work together culminates in a public exhibition on campus or in the East Bay community.
