Greenpeace Action Alert
27 February 2002
Victoria's Secret is Out! Company will soon be
PVC-free.
Congratulations and thank you! You've been an essential
partner in our campaign to convince Intimate Brands, owner of
Victoria's Secret and the Bath and Body Works, to eliminate
PVC packaging.
Thanks to feedback from you and thousands of others, the
company decided to phase out all its PVC bottles! By the
end of 2003, the company will be virtually PVC-free. That
will prevent over 1.4 million PVC bottles from ending up in
landfills or incinerators each year. The company has chosen
PET bottles for their conversion, the most easily recycled
plastic!
If you'd like to send a congratulatory note to the company,
send them an email from their website:

This response contrasts sharply with Alberto-Culver, maker
of VO5 shampoo. While bottling many of its other products
in non-PVC, the company continues to use PVC for its most
well-known product, VO5. A recent letter from the company
makes it clear Alberto-Culver will continue to use PVC
bottles.
