Year Round Varroa Mite Management: How to Have Your Hive Survive the Winter

Sunday | August 06, 2017 | 6:00 pm — 8:00 pm

Location in East Bay, CA

Varroa mites and the viruses they transmit are a major threat to bees. Learn what to do each season to keep mite levels low and your bees thriving. We will have all the equipment there to demo the sugar roll test, drone comb frames, robbing screens, and Mite Away strips. Keeping the mite levels in your hive low will not only enable your bees to survive multiple winters in maximum health, but also help all the bees in your neighborhood.
Instructor: Jennifer Radtke. See bio here.

Location for workshop will be provided upon registration; workshop held at instructor’s cottage.
