Worm Composting Workshop

This event has passed.

The importance of worms for keeping plants healthy and maintaining the quality of soil cannot be exaggerated. Worm “castings” (poop) are rich in symbiotic soil microbes that plants require to extract nutrients from the surrounding soil and fend off plant disease and harmful bacteria. Worm composting is easy to do and the results of applying castings and the liquid from a composter are recognizable immediately. Topics covered will include: choosing a composter, establishing your worms, what you should and should not feed worms, how to apply castings and worm tea, and how to maintain your composter.
