Workshop: Water-wise Plant Propagation
Join Daily Acts for a day of pruning and propagation and take home plants to enhance your own water-wise landscape!
It’s been four years since Pocket Park was converted from a thirsty lawn into a water-wise food forest. Since then, Pocket Park has matured into an abundant and productive landscape that now serves as a source of food, habitat, and medicinal plants. Join us for a day of pruning and propagation and take home plants to enhance your own water-wise landscape!
We’ll start the day touring the park with special focus on how to apply water-wise principles and practices in your own landscape. After the tour we’ll begin pruning and provide basic care to the site. We’ll break for a potluck snack and then finish the day exercising propagation techniques. You will leave the day with expanded knowledge, new skills, and water-wise plants for your own landscape.
Leading the day will be ever-joyful, always knowledgeable Wendy Krupnick. For over 35 years Wendy has shared her passion for growing vegetables, herbs, and fruit with others. She was senior horticulture advisor for Shepard’s Seed Company and has worked on several organic farms and garden projects. For sever years she managed the educational production gardens at Santa Rosa Junior College’s Shone Farm and is Adjunct Faculty with the Sustainable Agriculture program. Wendy teaches Master Gardener classes, has home garden clients, and provides content for iGROWSonoma.org
