Workshop: Water-Wise Food Forest Maintenance with John Valenzuela

This event has passed.

The drought is on and now is the time to fine-tune your food systems for the dry season ahead. If you want to learn how to improve the health of your water-wise edible landscape join John Valenzuela, President of the Golden Gate Chapter of the Rare Fruit Growers, for a day of pruning and propagation.

The day will begin with a tour of Cavanagh Center Community Food Forest – an ecological landscape that features water efficient strategies to maximize plant production. Following the tour we’ll prune selected plants under John’s expert guidance. After getting our hands dirty we’ll break for a potluck lunch and then finish the day propagating the water-wise plants harvested from the site.

Join us for a day of food forest maintenance and community gathering. Leave with an abundance of water-wise knowledge, skills and plants for your own garden. Register online.
