Workshop: Install A Greywater System

This event has passed.

The Laytonville Ecovillage is hosting a weekend greywater workshop June 28th and 29th.

The course is offered through the Solar Living Institute and taught by General Contractor and Hydrologist, Anna Birkas.

Residential greywater, which is wastewater generated from domestic processes such as washing dishes, laundry and bathing, is a valuable water resource that can be recycled to irrigate plants. Decentralized, low maintenance, and low energy methods can be used to move, treat and use water.

In this unique course, you’ll learn options for purifying and reusing water for your home, business or community.

Topics include:

  • designing successful greywater systems
  • installing systems with common household plumbing
  • choosing appropriate greywater plants
  • legal and practical considerations for greywater reuse

Free camping and use of outdoor kitchen and solar shower available. Friday afternoon arrival and Monday morning departure with optional tour of the Laytonville Ecovillage available.
