Workshop: Biodynamic Compost, Vermicompost and Biochar

The richness and bounty of your garden is dependent on the fertility of your soil. Will Bakx, owner and lead soil scientist of Sonoma Compost Company, will explain the principles of effective composting and how to turn organic waste into healthy, living soil. He will describe biodynamic and worm composting techniques detailing the advantages and drawbacks of each. Peter Hirst of the Sonoma Biochar Initiative will share the numerous benefits of adding biochar to your soil as well as discuss home-scale biochar production methods. Leave with the know-how to use compost, mulch and biochar to create a flourishing garden ecosystem!
