Woodshop for Women

This event has passed.

Avenues for women to learn basic techniques of woodworking and feel comfortable and safe are sadly scarce. We’re offering this intensive 3-day course to empower women to conceptualize and carry out basic carpentry projects.

Topics include:

  • essential tools and their proper use
  • safe and effective use of power tools
  • structural integrity
  • basic techniques such as cutting, nailing, drilling, driving, and leveling.

We will also tour the various buildings of OAEC to showdifferent styles of carpentry: standard professional, natural building, temporary, artistic, and hippie funk!

Come together with other women to share in this practical and empowering workshop. Space is limited, register online or by mail. Please note that our online registration price includes a 2.99% processing fee.
