Vote to Cap Refinery Emissions
Wednesday | June 21, 2017 | 8:45 am — 1:00 pm
Bay Area Air Quality Management District Office | 939 Ellis Street, San Francisco, CA 94109
An historic vote on air pollution limits that could “cap” Bay Area oil refinery emissions to prevent a huge pollution increase is scheduled for June 21st. Our health and climate are at stake.
Support refinery emission caps that protect our health and climate now.
Oppose a last-minute exemption that threatens to gut the caps.
A last-minute exemption could undermine this urgently needed protection by allowing increased emissions from unused project permits for “dirty” oil expansion projects.
We must oppose this exemption. Oil companies do not own our air. Oil companies do not own our lungs. They have no right to pollute us. Our air officials must be reminded of this fundamental fact.
Our locally elected officials plan to vote on the caps for our health and climate—or the exemption for increasing refinery air pollution—at this public hearing of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District Board of DirectorsVisit Event Website >>
