Two-Day Conference: “Transit and Cities: Past, Present, Future”

This event has passed.

Transit is vital to the sustainability of cities–environmentally, economically, socially. Trains and buses are the most resourceful way of moving large numbers of people about the city. They use less space and energy and, when powered by clean fuels, emit fewer pollutants than any mode. They are also inclusive, allowing everyone–regardless of age, income or background–to access all a city has to offer.

Keynote Speakers: Jaime Lerner (Former Mayor, Curitiba, Brazil), Peter Calthorpe (The Next American Metropolis and Urbanism in the Age of Climate Change), Therese McMillan ( Deputy Administrator, Federal Transit Administration)
