Transition Berkeley’s Screening the Green: Within Reach – Journey to Find Sustainable Community

This event has passed.

Description Transition Berkeley’s monthly environmental film series Screening the Green happens every first Thursday.

The featured film for November will be Within Reach – Journey to Find Sustainable Community, a documentary film that follows one couple’s pedal-powered adventure across the United States in search of sustainable community. Mandy and Ryan have given up their corporate jobs and traditional houses to “bike-pack” thousands of miles around the USA, visiting eco-villages, coops, Transition Towns and more, seeking to answer the question: Is it possible for all of us to live in a sustainable way? withinreachmovie.com

Following the film Associate Producer Raines Cohen will facilitate a conversation on steps for creating and finding community. Residents of local coops, co-housing and co-householding will be on hand to answer questions.

This event is co-sponsored by Transition Berkeley, East Bay Cohousing, and BFUU’s Social Justice Committee. Light and local refreshments will be served.
