The Future of Food and Family Farmers: Thinking about Food Utopias

Paul Stock is a rural and environmental sociologist in the Department of Sociology and the Environmental Studies Program at the University of Kansas. Previously he was a Research Fellow at the Center for Sustainability and a lecturer in Sociology at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. He writes about the challenges of morality amid agriculture and the environment from the perspective of farmers and those in the Catholic Worker movement. His upcoming book Food Utopias: Reimagining Citizenship, Ethics, and Community examines the challenges and hopes in our food systems today and into the future as part of the growing dialogue around food and justice.
