Standing on Sacred Ground: Pilgrims and Tourists

This event has passed.
Join us for the screening of Sacred Land Film Project’s new documentary film exploring indigenous shamans of the Altai Republic, Russia (southern Siberia) and the Winnemem Wintu of northern California, who find common ground resisting government megaprojects.

Reception at 7pm, Film Screening at 8pm

Join us for a reception ($75) and meet representatives of The Altai Project, visitors from Altai, including Danil Mamyev of Altai’s sacred Karakol Valley, the filmmakers, and staff from the Weeden Foundation, the evening’s main sponsor, and a long-time funder of conservation work in Altai. Film follows reception. Film-only tickets are $20.

Proceeds to benefit the Tengri School of Spiritual Ecology, the Winnemem Wintu Tribe, the Sacred Land Project, The Altai Project, and Snow Leopard Conservancy.
