River of Words Hands-On Workshop for Educators
Art • Poetry • Watersheds • Nature
The Center for Environmental Literacy (CEL) and the Kalmanovitz School of Education (KSOE) will offer an innovative workshop entitled Transforming Outdoor Experiences into Poetry & Art.
It will be co-taught by Pamela Michael, Center for Environmental Literacy director and River of Words co-founder, and Dr. Raina León, KSOE Professor of English and poet.
Here are some of the takeaways you will receive from this weekend:
- Link to both Core Curriculum and River of Words’ Watershed Explorer and One Square Block curricula, which combine environmental education with history, math, science, social studies, geography, language and the arts.
- Learn to make writing poetry and creating art fun, memorable and anxiety-free.
- Gain valuable skills that will help you guide youth toward an informed respect for the natural world and an understanding of their place in it.
Open to educators (formal & informal) of Grades K-12.
