Revitalizing Agriculture in the Valley of the Heart’s Delight: A Model of Linked Urban and Rural Sustainability, A Talk by Sibella Kraus, President of SAGE.
The Coyote Valley: the last remnant of the Valley of the Heart’s Delight – is a beautiful 7,400 -acre valley located between San Jose and Morgan Hill in Santa Clara County. SAGE is working with numerous stakeholders to create a regionally significant, permanently protected agricultural and conservation resource area on this prime urban-edge farmland which, until recently, was slated for development.
Sibella Kraus has developed innovative and acclaimed sustainable agriculture marketing, education, and land use projects for over 30 years. She is president of SAGE (Sustainable Agriculture Education), a nonprofit established in 2001 to promote multifunctional agriculture as a key element of regional sustainability planning and implementation.
