Community Event

Produce Security Harvest

Finish off Food Month with the Produce Security Harvest at the Gill Tract Community Farm with the Berkeley Food Pantry, the Student Organic Garden Association, the Berkeley Student Food Collective, and the Berkeley Food Institute. Starting on 10am, there will be a welcome from the Food Pantry, followed by workshops on student food insecurity and the difficult tensions between cheap food and sustainable food within food justice. At 11am, the group will start to work and harvest on the farm. Lunch will be funded by the Berkeley Food Initiative. Produce harvested from the farm will then be transported to the Berkeley Food Pantry to be available to students experiencing food insecurity.
