Permaculture: A Climate Change Solution

This event has passed.

Through pictures and discussion Jonathan will inspire attendees to experiment with permaculture as an ethical and practical way to transition from climate destruction to climate regeneration. Starting with basic principles of permaculture, he’ll discuss the finer points about perennial polycultures of multipurpose plants, as well as how to build new healthy soil, and the techniques he uses in his garden. He will address where we are now with climate change, and how we can start to solve multiple environmental issues by growing nutrient dense, diverse, gardens and farms… using his 1/10 acre as a case study.

Jonathan Bates is the contributing author of the book Paradise Lot: Two Plant Geeks and 1/10th of an acre, and owner of His edible forest garden, located in Holyoke, MA, is recognized around the world. Copies of Paradise Lot will be available for purchase at the presentation.

Jonathan will also be featured at these events:
