Northern California Permaculture & Transition Convergence: Building Resilient Communities

This event has passed.

This fun and fantastic Convergence will bring together the best of the NorCal Permaculture Convergence and the NorCal Regional Transition Network Conference for an action-packed weekend designed to interweave and up level our combined efforts towards building a movement of community resilience.

With keynotes speakers, workshops, & panel discussions from leading resilience thinkers and doers; a model resilient community; live music; camping; child and youth programming; and plenty of opportunities for co-inspiration and cross-pollination… the Building Resilient Communities Convergence will bring together leaders, permaculture designers, transition organizers, activists, young people, homesteaders, designers, social entrepreneurs, and others who are passionate about shifting the paradigm and joining together to cross-pollinate, skill-up, synergize and celebrate!

Our highlights include:
Fantastic skill share workshops, from Aquaponics to urban homestead design;
Amazing keynote speakers — Transition Town Founder Rob Hopkins will make a rare appearance in the U.S. — and Julia Butterfly Hill, TreePeople founder Andy Lipkis and Richard Heinberg will speak as well;
Informative workshops from the best of the Bay Area’s permaculture designers and non-profits, from Bay Localize, Daily Acts, Movement Generation, Christopher Shein, Permaculture Artisan’s Eric Ohlsen and many many more!
Network with old permie friends, including at a delicious community dinner
Dance the night away to great music with Dogon Lights, Zion Lion and DJ Dragonfly;
Experience a model resilience community as we create a marketplace and township at the site;
Participate in Open Space and learn DIY skills

The Convergence is a unique opportunity for all of us who dream of a more sustainable and resilient future to come together from diverse backgrounds and habitats to share, explore and practice strategies to build the capacity and interconnection of our initiatives and to further empower our common visions becoming a reality. Whether you are a seasoned permaculturalist, a transition town activist, a community organizer, or just excited to learn about a new way of living in greater harmony with people and the planet… this event is something for you!
