Nomination Deadline: Environmental Leaders of Marin

Who would you like to nominate a special person, school or business for the 2014 Environmental Leader of Marin Awards?

There are five categories to choose and nominate an environmental leader as listed below:

  • 2014 Environmental Leader of Marin
  • Environmental Leader of Marin – Volunteer
  • Environmental Leader of Marin – Educator
  • Environmental Leader of Marin – Sustainable Business
  • Environmental Leader of Marin – School

We are seeking nominations from the greater Marin public to help select the Awardees that they believe should be recognized as Marin’s Environmental Leaders of 2014.

Please send your suggestions for Award winners by email. The nomination process is open to February 15th, 2014

List the specific category for your nominee, and at least 1-3 paragraphs summarizing why they are being nominated. Information to include: volunteer or paid staff, length of service, scope of service (i.e. acres preserved, people reached, etc.), benefits to the Marin County environment and community, and what is outstanding about their work.

Previous award winners include Congressman Jared Huffman, for his efforts strengthening the Department of Fish and Game, opposing offshore drilling, and for being a leader advocate for sound environmental policies. Dr. Marty Griffin who was instrumental in preserving Marin’s beauty, environmental diversity and natural habitats. In addition to founding Audubon Canyon Ranch and the Environmental Forum of Marin, Dr. Griffin’s tireless efforts have promoted environmental sustainability in Marin. Charles McGlashan who led the Marin County, California effort to adopt Marin Clean Energy.
