International Environmental Institute: Meets in East Bay and Oaxaca, Mexico
The Center for Critical Environmental & Global Literacy (CCEGL) Institute focuses on Food Justice & Sovereignty, Climate Disruption, Water Rights, Indigenous Communities, Cultural and Linguistic Autonomy, Consumption and Critical Literacy and seeks to deepen participant awareness of local and global environmental & educational challenges. Seminar meetings revolve around documentary films, short articles, speakers and hands-on activities. Interviewing participants Now to begin Mid-April (10 Cal State units optional).
The Institute begins with a weekend introductory on the Russian River (April 18-20th) with subsequent meetings Wednesday evenings (East Bay – approx. 12 sessions in all). The Institute culminates with the preparation of an interactive one week workshop to be carried out within an indigenous education community in Oaxaca, Mexico. (Fall/Winter Institute culminates in El Salvador).
