Integrating Ayurvedic Food and Wellness
We will be using herbs and spices in food to help promote better digestion – modern science is pointing to the digestive tract as our seat of immunity (different studies shows 60 – 80% of our immune system begins in the digestion). We will make different herbal preps with foods for people to sample, herbal yogurts and drinks, za’tar- a Persian spices sumac added with other spices to put on all sorts of food and bread, Herbal spice sprinkles with 12 different herbs, tonic herbs added to soups such as astragalus, ginseng, codonopsis etc., spiced rice, hot cereals, fruit with herbs added. Spiced honey will be sampled as well. Taught by Candis Cantin.
Time: Friday Night Community Lecture, 7pm to 9pm; Weekend Workshop, 10:00 am to 5:00pm.
