In Our Own Backyard: Celebrating Fresh and Sustainable Local Foods

This event has passed.

The Contra Costa Master Gardeners will host their second annual educational fundraiser to celebrate our local agricultural community.  In the morning, a panel of local farmers will share various aspects of the history of agriculture in the county as well as address future agricultural issues.

In the afternoon, the focus will shift from farming to your home garden.  A leading soil scientist will discuss ways to analyze and enhance your soil, and gardening experts will then talk about growing edibles in your own backyard.

In addition, local vendors will be selling products made from the fruits of our agricultural bounty.
