SF Green Festival
Come to this annual celebration of sustainability and ecological balance at the nation’s largest green living event. Enjoy cooking demos, environmental films, keynote speakers, kids activities, fashion, beer & wine, and a marketplace with hundreds of local and national green businesses.
Food Stage: Keba Konte of Red Bay Coffee will be leading a presentation on how to brew gourmet style coffee at home, Mani Niall of Sweet Bar Bakery will be sharing her Organic, Fair Trade Dark Chocolate Truffle recipe, and Ashel Eldridge of SOS Juice will demystify juicing.
Speakers: S.F. Green Festival will feature many notable speakers including Amy Goodman, author and host of Democracy Now! discussing how the work of ordinary people to change their media can change the world, a screening of the film GMO OMG which follows a father as he travels the world to learn the truth about how GMOs may be effecting his children, and John Trudell, lifelong activist and artist explaining the economic benefits of hemp!
Childrens Activities: Green Festivals is passionate about sharing sustainability with the next generation and the Green Kids Zone will provide a space for fun and creative exploration of the natural world. Join the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse in costume making from recycled materials, D.J. Lamont for an interactive electronic music playspace, and Pacha’s Pajamas for a musical performance! Music, crafts, learning and games will mean a fun time for all.
