Fossil Free UC Rally
Students, alums and faculty at UC Berkeley want the Regents to vote to divest from fossil fuel stocks at their September 17 meeting.
There’s only one Regents meeting before then — July 17 and 18 at UCSF-Mission Bay. We’d like to have a big crowd of people there to let the Regents know that we care and are watching. The meeting begins at 8:30 am and we want to be there when the Regents come into the building. Come if you can, and invite any other friends, relatives, UC alums, or California taxpayers that you know. If UC fully divests (not just from coal like Stanford, but also oil and gas) it will be a huge victory for everyone.
Please see our website and sign the petition to stay in touch. You’ll find lots of information under the heading “Get Involved” about our “Donors for Divestment” campaign, letter-writing (we would like the Regents to receive one letter a day in July and there are samples on the website), and other ways to get involved. If you have questions about divestment, please see 350.org’s website: http://gofossilfree.org/faq/ Thanks for your help!
Any questions, please email Kathy Barnhart, class of ‘68.
