Community Event

Food Justice Bay Area and Beyond

This event has passed.

Enjoy a fresh dinner and engage in dialogue about the growing Bay Area food movement that’s taking root in this area, across the nation and around the world. “Edible City” documents a broad spectrum of activists, organizations and inspired citizens and explores how everyone can get involved in transforming our food system. It captures the spirit of a movement that’s making real change and doing something truly revolutionary: growing the model for a healthy, sustainable local food system that’s socially just, environmentally sound, and economically resilient.

Film makers and participants from the film will be present. There will be conversations, sharing and brainstorming of ideas about where we can go next. Several organizations are collaborating for this event: La Peña Cultural Center, Teachers 4 Social Justice (t4sj) Center for Critical Environmental & Global Literacy (CCEGL), Planting Justice, Movement Generation (MG), Food First, Urban Adamah, Phat Beets and Urban Tilth.
