DIY Fermentation Basics for Novices

Want to dabble in food fermentation for fun, for health, or just to broaden your culinary knowledge? Anyone can learn how to make sauerkraut and kombucha. We may also demo kimchi and pickling. There is no fee, but you need to bring a 2 lb. head of cabbage, a chopping knife, a large salad bowl to massage the cabbage, hand towels and two jars: a quart jar for the sauerkraut, a smaller jar to take home a kombucha “mother.”
