Dental Health: Natural Approaches
This lecture will present an overview of dental pathologies frequently encountered but often overlooked in holistic clinical practice and their prevention and treatment with natural methods. The first section will be devoted to common sources of dental xenobiotics such as mercury, plastics, implants and adhesives and their long-term effects on the immune system and inflammatory processes. The second section will review the underlying physiology of dental pathologies and their treatment such as salivary health, formation of biofilms, chronic infection, and the effect of diet and medications. The third section will review traditional and contemporary natural methods for treatment, prevention and complementary therapies, focusing specifically on herbal remedies and essential oils.
