Daily Acts Workshop: Cultivating Culinary and Medicinal Herbs
Learn how to grow, harvest and use your own medicinal and culinary herbs to save money, beautify your surroundings and bolster your health. The pairing of these two horticulturally savvy women is sure to provide you with a solid foundation of herbal cultivation knowledge. Both instructors run their own businesses and earn a living propagating and harvesting plants. Learn growing techniques, propagation methods and medicinal uses for the many plants that thrive in our northern California climate. Summer pollen allergies, for example, can be tamed with easy herbal blends that you can grow at home. Learn fresh herbal recipes, tea blends and medicine chest go-tos. During a walk through the garden, you’ll learn how and when to harvest herbs and how they provide a drought tolerant addition to an urban landscape. Herbs can also be the foundation for a pollinator-attracting, farm-scale hedgerow project. Bring your questions and take home an abundance of strategies for incorporating herbs into your garden and life.
