The County of San Mateo’s Sustainability Academy (Academy) is a no-cost education and outreach program designed to raise awareness around sustainability and empower our San Mateo County community members with the knowledge and skills to promote resource conservation in their communities. The Academy courses are taught by local experts and offer participants access to cutting-edge sustainability information and best practices. The courses are a great way for you to get involved with sustainability projects in your community, build leadership skills, and meet new people who share the same interest!
8 consecutive Wednesdays, February 8 through March 29, 2017, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Location: County of San Mateo, 455 County Center, 4th Fl, Room 405, Redwood City
In this 8-week Master Resource Conservation course, you’ll learn the ins and outs of various sustainability topics, including energy and water efficiency/conservation, pollution prevention, stormwater management, sustainable transportation and land-use, and waste management. You will also learn about different local resource conservation issues, efforts underway, and what you can do to promote sustainability in your community.
A 40-hour volunteer commitment is required for participating in this course.
