Class: Hands-on Lighting for Human Factors and Energy Efficiency
This class will review a new type of lighting that takes into account both energy efficiency and human factors. Topics will include research on light and human health, defining human perception, subjective lighting measures, and the implications of lighting quality for real life applications. We will explore how the advancements in lighting technology and controls are opening new opportunities for (bio) Dynamic Lighting systems that are good for people, save energy, and are a natural fit for Smart Grid fluidity. There will also be demonstrations and student hands-on experience with lighting fixtures and software controls. This is a fun and informative class for both beginners and intermediate levels.
