Citrus Tree Grafting Workshop with John Valenzuela, owner of Cornucopia Food Forest Gardens

This event has passed.

Discover the art and science of citrus tree grafting! Learn about how to make new citrus trees, and how to add or change varieties on the older trees in your backyard orchard. We will discuss the importance of ‘clean propagation’ to avoid diseases, various rootstocks, and the 6 fruiting varieties you will be able to choose from for your own project (all certified disease free). After learning some basic theory about tree culture, techniques and tools, we will head out to the Pollinate orchard to graft an established citrus tree. Guided hands-on practice will have you taking home a newly grafted citrus tree of your own!
