Black Mountain Circle Film Series: A River Changes Course
Winner of the 2013 Sundance Festival World Cinema Grand Jury Prize and the 2013 Golden Gate Award for Best Documentary Feature at the San Francisco Film Festival, this film by Kalyanee Mam intimately captures the stories of three Cambodian families striving to maintain their traditional ways. As development and globalization close in around them, and as change comes to the area, the Tonle Sap River and the rich land surrounding it—which give life and sustenance to the people of Cambodia—are changing as well. “A haunting tale of what’s around the corner for our world” (Indie Times). Q&A with the filmmaker follows screening. Presented by Point Reyes Books.
