Provides solid waste and recycling services in the Central Contra Costa region. CCSWA provides brochures on Grass cycling Reuse and Builders Reuse and Recycling. Website contains many helpful fact sheets. Provides low-cost compost bins and information on hazardous waste and electronics recycling.
They also have the Materials Recovery Facility Field Trip where students can see up close how recyclables are sorted and they’ll learn why it’s so important to sort correctly in the classroom. The field trip includes an interactive classroom presentation, outside tour of the facility and pre-tour activities for the classroom. Only available to the 12 schools in the area.
