In the final event of our Zero Waste series, this Thursday evening local author Beth Terry will discuss her new book, Plastic-Free: How I Kicked the Plastic Habit and How You Can Too. After learning about the impacts of plastic on the environment and human health, Terry began an experiment to eliminate as much new plastic as possible from her day to day life. Five years later, she has reduced her plastic waste to less than 2% of the national average. During her talk, Terry will share solutions, stories, and the reasons why, despite what certain critics assert, our personal actions really do make a difference. Copies of the book (which includes tips on food storage from our own Farmers’ Market program!) will be available to purchase. We hope you’ll join, June 28th from 7 to 9 PM at the Ecology Center Store. More event details available here.
